The  Ouroboros  or Uroborus (in Latin), is one of the oldest esoteric symbols in the world. Its iconography is a serpent or dragon biting its own tail. As the ancient Greek, Ouro (tail) and Boros (voracious), means. It is found in several cultures on all continents. Symbol of the eternal cycleof nature, oftime, hope and renewal. But still of rejuvenation, resurrection and protection, already present on the Egyptian sarcophagi of antiquity.

The jade dragon-pigs of Chinese culture could have inspired its ancient representations thanks to the exchanges born of the Silk Road.

The Phoenicians would have inherited it from the Egyptians who in turn transmitted it to the Greeks. This myth is, so to speak, universal; the giant snake Jörmungand surrounding the world in the Nordics, passing through mythologiesAztec, North American, Australian, even if the latter does not constantly bite its tail. A tradition from the Indian Ocean, of Vedic and European inspiration, describes the father of the god Kerdik as a serpent-god named Paradise, and surrounding the garden of the gods to protect it from unworthy creatures. The word Paradise comes from the Persianpairi daēzTo  which means royal enclosure. The ouroboros could mean the union of the chthonian world represented by the serpent (relating to the infernal gods) and the celestial world by the circle. An interpretation confirmed by the fact that he would be half black, half white in certain iconographies. Suggesting a dualism of heaven and earth, good and evil, day and night, Yang and Chinese Yin...

Purifying seal symbolizing the eternal unity of all things in Alchemy: nothing is created, nothing disappears but is transformed.

For Satanist followers, the snake, by biting its tail, inoculates its venom and settles down by itself, by absorbing the fundamental knowledge of all things and of all truth, venom is its figurative substance. .

The ouroboros also represents thedemon-God Leviathan, the snake of emptiness and initial chaos.
