The Kitsune, translating to foxor fox spirit; in Japanese, is a symbol of folklore that is the subject of many Shinto, Taoist and Buddhist legends and beliefs. Its origin dates back to the 9th century. In the stories, he is given real magical powers and a very sharp intelligence.
He can indeed take possession of spirits, manipulate dreams, breathe fire and control it. After a hundred years, any kitsune is able to change its shape (often the appearance of very beautiful young women), its powers multiply over the years.
He is said to be the messenger of Inari, the goddess of rice and trade, protector of rice, agriculture and fertility. The deities themselves can appear in fox form.
Naturally cunning, he enjoys playing tricks on humans. In addition, some Kitsune have the ability to predict the future and modulate space-time.
This celestial fox is also known to be the master of illusion.
Although it has characteristics common to all foxes, it has the particularity of being equipped with one or more tails. From these, it is possible to determine its age because every century this legendary creature grows a new tail. The Kitsune can have up to nine of them, as experience and wisdom, its fur eventually turns white.
Kitsune masks are very popular in many festivals and many people wear these masks for fun, to pay homage to the gods or for ritual practices. These fox masks are available in different shapes, colors and sizes, the most common colors are gold, white and black.
