Hathor pendant in wire art of quality copper wires (cadmium/lead/nickel free) of a magnificent natural red jasper, without treatment.
The copper is hammered in places and oxidized with a blowtorch and patinated.
It is oiled and varnished to protect against oxidation.
A unique and original creation entirely made by hand.
I have integrated into the composition, a large mesh copper-plated brass chain (6mm) which allows you to adjust the necklace to the desired length. (max length span 30cm)
Double clasp (carabiner and hook).
The pendant remains light and pleasant to wear.

Hathor was the cosmogony of ancient Egypt, the golden goddess who helped women to give birth, the dead to be reborn and the cosmos to renew itself. This complex deity could function as the mother, wife and daughter of the creator god. Many lesser goddesses came to be seen as names of Hathor in her contrasting benevolent and destructive aspects. She was most often shown as a beautiful woman carrying a red sun disk between a pair of cow horns.












 

 

For the Egyptians, this brick-red stone symbolized eternal life.

It was enormously exploited in the manufacture of objects in the form of scarabs and pendants. They lent red jasper the power to protect against the bites of poisonous beasts.

For the Greeks, there was a close connection between this stone and Gaia, the mother goddess.

The Romans gave the red mineral as an offering to the fertility goddess Bona Dae in order to have many children.

In more northern lands, legends tell that a brave warrior would have killed a dragon with the legendary Siegfried sword whose pommel was encrusted with jasper, the blood of the defeated beast would then have responded to the stone by dyeing it red. in order to give birth to a variety of jasper called bloodstone or dragon blood jasper.

This mineral was also used by American Indians as a talisman to protect themselves from the attacks of ferocious beasts during the night and was also exploited in the form of a bracelet because it had the power to attract rain during periods of drought. .

In Asian countries, especially in Japan, important personalities used to wear jasper stone magamatas, a fang-shaped pendant that contained the soul of war heroes.
